Recruiting Tool: Obsession, the Movie

This is probably one of the best recruiting tools available. It's called Obsession, and it's being billed as the must see film or our time. Heck, I just got done watching the clips, and it made me want to enlist.

This film clearly shows the enemy we face and why we must fight the Global War on Terror. Unfortunately, Obsession doesn't yet have a U.S. distributor (imagine that) but I found that the director's cut can now be ordered on DVD at the Obsession, the Movie website.

The film plainly distinguishes between Muslims and terrorists, noting that not every Muslim is our enemy. It then goes on to show how extremists are indoctrinated in hate and trained to make war from very early ages. Even if you are already somewhat aware of these issues, you may still find yourself shocked as you watch young girls gleefully hope for the death of our president or view children hardly big enough to go to school as they engage in combat training and practice using assault weapons.

Scenes where extremist leaders rally huge crowds of people chanting things like "death to America" or "death to Israel" are also likely to have a chilling effect. This is a true documentary, using live footage, which is quite unnerving and very graphic. The film is not yet rated, but it is suggested that only those over 18 watch.

Live footage, much of it gathered from Middle Eastern television, is presented to show not only America, but also the rest of the world, the very real threat and the engrained hatred we face. You won't find this kind of information openly and thoroughly reported by typical media outlets. This is your chance to discover the cold, hard truth, if you dare.

A huge thanks to all our troops and their families. Godspeed in executing the vital missions before you!

My 17 year old nephew (just started his senior year in high-school) just enlisted in the Marines for after high-school. He is very excited about it, and no matter my opinions on the war, I am proud of him. I am also so very nervous about the thought of him being sent to a war zone when he is barely 18 years old, but this is what he wants to do. Thanks for all of your blogs on this topic.

Thanks Sherry - I hadn't even heard about this movie. And I am glad to hear your nephew is excited about joining the Marines Kaye and you are supporting him. Hopefully it will be great experience for him.

Kaye, I truly hate the fact that any of our kids, or other family members, have to go to war. I hate that our kids are even growing up during war. Unfortunately, this enemy is very real. Thankfully, we have incredibly brave, devoted, men and women who volunteer to serve this country and defend freedom. I wish your nephew the best, and his parents, you, the rest of the family. God bless.

Libby, many people don't know about the movie because there is currently no US distributor for it. It is not being shown in theaters or on cable TV. It is only available by ordering it, but the word is getting out. It was recently adverstised on Glenn Beck's radio and TV shows, and so many people went to the Obsession website every time he broadcast, that they kept crashing the servers.

Update: Fox News Channel is going to air a special about the movie this Saturday. Check your listings for local times if interested.
