Many people will also celebrate Monday the 13th, because that's the day they will have off. Here is a rundown of other topics covered here this week. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld Resigns The day after the election, President Bush suddenly announced the resignation and replacement of Donald Rumsfeld. Many in the Republican party were stunned, especially after the president had recently stated that the Secretary would stay on throughout his administration. As shocking as the announcement was, change can be good, so let's hope this one is good for our troops. On November 5, National Veterans Awareness Week was discussed, and thanks and tribute were offered to the brave heroes that fought in our places. Despite anyone's opinion of war in general, or a specific war, our Veterans deserve to be honored.
