Jan Brewer Wants to Take Away Health Insurance Benefits

There are thousands of Americans who lack health insurance coverage. Governor Jan Brewer wants to add to that number. She has asked the Supreme Court to terminate health-care benefits for state employees’ same-sex partners. I think that we can all agree that the quality of a person’s life is better when that person has health insurance coverage. IBM’s Watson Has a New Job

Watson is an extremely smart computer. You may have seen Watson when the computer was a contestant on the game show “Jeopardy!”. Now that the game is over, Watson has been offered a job analyzing insurance claims, and suggesting health treatments. Watson was created by IBM. It is an artificial intelligence computer that can answer questions that are posed to it in “natural language”. A Type II Diabetes Journey: When You’re Sick

I’ve been sick all week. Not with the sniffles or a mild cold, but with a knock-you-off-your-feet, scramble-your-brain-in-pain virus. It happens once a year. The virus rips through the Northwest, depleting workers’ sick time, lowering attendance at school significantly, and driving some to their doctor’s offices.
